Their property was equipped with outdated metal halide pole mounted fixtures, which were inefficient, expensive to maintain, and provided dim lighting, causing safety concerns. The Market of Wake Forest is a 116,341 sq. ft. grocery based retail center located in Wake Forest, NC, hosting a mix of national, regional, and local businesses. With increases in economic and traffic drivers, as well as Wake Forest being ranked as one of the fastest growing municipalities in North Carolina, it was vital GreenTech conduct the LED lighting upgrade to improve safety while reducing costs.
Solution
The LED lighting upgrade for the Market of Wake Forest required replacing 200W metal halide pole mounted fixtures with energy-efficient 200W LED fixtures, significantly improving the light levels over the previous, out-dated system. Photometric lighting design was utilized to ensure uniform illumination across the entire property.
The use of a cloud-based blue-tooth networked control platform was implemented to allow advanced controls and monitoring of the connected hardware while also providing real-time energy reporting. These advanced controls provide the ability to fine tune lighting based on occupancy-based scheduling to yield higher energy savings. The generated data is analyzed to provide suggestions for optimization and update system modifications to drive additional energy savings.
